Support all activities regarding plant objective for on-time delivery and inventory turns. Responsible for expediting purchased material, maintaining relationships with vendors, maintains records, reports, history utilizing SAP and applicable business systems. Utilizes SAP to identify requirements for purchase orders. Initiates non-conformance reports for vendor defects and maintains vendor performance metrics. Processes purchasing function of back charging suppliers for part rework or scrap. Maintains knowledge of supply sources, costing, price trends, vendor cost and capacity. Coordinates shipping and receiving arrangements for WIP that require outside service work. Coordinates and updates engineering changes regarding purchased material and ensure vendors receive updated specifications. Communicates with receiving, inspection, shipping, customer service and manufacturing to ensure continuous material flow.
